Initially developed for the German market, where coaster brakes are still prevailing for city- and touring bikes, the new IDbike CBS (Coaster Brake Switch) offers a safe and instant cut off of the motor support once the coaster brake has been actuated through back pedalling. Also for less “State-of-the-Art” electric bicycles driven by RPM-sensors, the CBS has a real added value. RPM-driven electric bicycles mostly suffer from a sluggish and non instant reaction. At modest cost, the patented CBS tremendously improves the functionality of RPM-sensors by increasing the reaction speed at backward and forward pedalling.
